Cornhill Street Squatters

I’m not sure what to say? I think they are beautiful and natural, but also wonder about my sanity?  Some dead, some alive, these ‘squatters’ were in the store front window of an Annapolis building being turned into a restaurant.  If its any consolation:  this building has been abandoned since 2007.

Palm Frond

A palm frond section shot from above in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  There are over 2,500 species of palm trees.

Seed Pods

Not quite sure of the tree these delicate seed pods fell off of.  Collected in Annapolis, Maryland on the last day of July.

Civic Justice Corps

Photographs from the Maryland Civic Justice Corps Commencement Ceremony at North Point State Park, MD. Graduates were from Assateague State Park, Gunpowder Falls State Park, Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary, Patapsco Valley State Park, and Susquehanna State Park.  The program focus on teaching youth about themselves while protecting the environment.  Some of their achievements include refurbishing 77 park buildings, planting over 600 trees, and removing thousands of pounds of trash from rivers, streams, and picnic areas.  Congratulations Graduates – you are all very inspiring!

Vermont Apples

Scotts Farm in Dummerston, VT is a 626 acre property which produces 70 varieties of ecologically grown apples.  Each October they open the farm for an heirloom apple tasting celebration -highly recommended!  Visit their website for directions and information.  Vermont has around 4,000 acres of its land dedicated to growing apples.
