Baltimore, Maryland. Photo of the water level on the USS Torsk. Commissioned on 16 December 1944, USS TORSK was built at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and was one of only ten Tench Class fleet type submarines to see service in World War II, according to Historic Ships in Baltimore. In 1972, Torsk, arrived in Baltimore to serve as a museum and memorial.
Anders Thorsvik, my grandfather, loved ice cream. When asked if he like it he always responded “the best I ever had” with a big grin. Anders was a proud tugboat sailor in Norway and in Baltimore, MD. Everyone in Baltimore knew him as “Norwegian Andy.” I found this archived Black & White photograph I shot a few years ago and thought I’d share what made me smile today.
The Port Discovery Children’s Museum in Baltimore, Maryland won the 2008 Accent on Architecture Award of Merit for Excellence in Public Education of Architecture and Design by The American Architectural Foundation and Victor O. Schinnerer & Company, Inc.
Stacked shot glasses at Max’s Taphouse in Fells Point, Maryland. Max’s is known for having Maryland’s largest selection of local and imported beer on draft. Great for locals and tourists alike!
On a photo assignment with The Park Advocate in Baltimore, Maryland. We spent a considerable amount of time capturing images for stories showing just how “unkept” certain areas of our city look. Along the way we met some lively characters and observed a variety of different living conditions. Images speak volumes. If you would like to follow some of these stories please visit The Park Advocate link – and as always feel free to comment both here and on their page.
A recent photo shoot with ‘The Park Advocate‘ in Baltimore, Maryland. Pictured is founder, Chris Delaporte, and advocate Dennis Robinson who are leading the way with an “unincorporated advocacy association that strives for better quality open space in Baltimore.” They are both extreamly knowledgeable and motivating to be around. I know they will continue to do amazing things for our city.
