Spice Up Your Holiday Dish

A few tiny crab apples lay in a shallow puddle of water on a neighborhood street covered in hot pink spray paint. Here is my favorite one…
A few shots from Chef’s By The Bay 2011 held by the Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. Blue Crab Yo-Yo Photography was a proud sponsor of the event along with: Air Tran, Annapolis Booth Photo, Barefoot Wine, Chambord Vodka, and Jet Blue. Thanks to Anne for the recommendation, and a big thank you to all the members, chefs, and band Sweet Leda: everything was lovely.
Black & White photograph of asparagus ends… straight from the market. Beautiful, nutritious, and tasty. According to the Michigan Asparagus Advisory Board, a 5.3 ounce serving provides 60% of the recommended daily allowance for folacin which is necessary for blood cell formation, growth, and prevention of liver disease.
Delicious, filling, and vegetarian – my favorite type of sushi. Photographed on location at Tsunami in Annapolis, MD. Their website says the ambiance is “dark and sexy.” I recommend you check it out and try a cocktail at the hip bar as well – delicious!
No trip to London would be complete without visiting Portobello Market on a saturday morning. After a brief rainstorm I found these oranges and apples sitting in silver colander’s on a black pull-cart. Lovely.
White asparagus is deprived of light while growing so it cannot turn green. The cooking directions say to peel the asparagus before cooking – I choose to use my extra time photographing instead of peeling… sorry chefs.
Figs are Beautiful! Delicate, warm coloring, and complex texture make these organic Figs from Whole Foods an excellent subject. And, they were tasty. Fig trees can grow up to 50 feet tall.

As a natural light only type of photographer I am experimenting with baked goods and their light reflections from sugar. These cupcakes are from Annette’s Cakery in Severna Park Maryland. Flavors: Mocha and Almond. Yes Please!
