Father To Son

Palo Alto, California.  New to the world, (and my youngest cousin I may add!) Hudson and his father Rodney explore the great city scape during an early morning stroll.  Everyone adored him of course – Even the bagel shop we ate at gave Hudson a mini kid-size bagel to eat.  Dear Hudson, welcome to the world kid… it’s going to be great.

A Moment Of Bliss

On a trip to the Dominican Republic Liza enjoys a moment of pure bliss.

Kindling And Limb Wood

Every once in a while I come across a photo I love and cannot remember where I took it.  This drives me crazy.  And, this is why GPS is now in cameras – I’m sure of it.  Years ago, on a very long traveling spree this image was snapped.  In most mountainous regions the kindling and limb wood were on the honor system – no one is there to collect your money, you just take what you need, leave your money in an old tin jar that is chained to a tree, and carry on.

Colin And Patrick

Atlanta, Georgia.  Two brothers:  Colin & Christopher (aka Patrick) take a few seconds out of their busy schedule of basketball shooting, Angry Bird playing, and Lego building to look at the camera.  How can you not love their boyish charm? – don’t ever loose it!

Curves And Windows

Munich, Germany.  I believe this was the first photo I shot after getting off the train – Its grand curve and perfect windows make you want to stay forever!

Into The Fog

It was so foggy this morning schools had a delayed opening here in Maryland.  This image was shot just for the striking contrast of the docks reflection in the water – and not until I looked at the image after did I see a boat slowly cruising into the foggy bay.  Sometimes photography is magical that way.

Camp Down Disco Party

Once upon a time at an event called “Camp Down Disco Party” at a tree nursery in Upper Marlboro, MD there were tents pitched under sweet plum trees, modern hippies feeding an old couch to a bon-fire, endless cups full of libations and merriment, and friends savoring the last days of summer.  I managed to snap a few early morning photos while we made a breakfast of potatoes and french press coffee.

Cornhill Street Squatters

I’m not sure what to say? I think they are beautiful and natural, but also wonder about my sanity?  Some dead, some alive, these ‘squatters’ were in the store front window of an Annapolis building being turned into a restaurant.  If its any consolation:  this building has been abandoned since 2007.

Stencil Graffiti On Historic Walls

I think a good way to start a chilly November is with a telling photograph.  Although there are many stencil graffiti pieces in Annapolis (most lurking down small alleyways – which I like to frequent – for that exact reason, and most don’t stick because the historic wall surfaces crumble from age and water damage) these two have never been painted over.

Creek Construction

While dining on the seasonal Vegetable and Mushroom Risotto in an acorn squash bowl, capped with a grilled portabello mushroom (great now I’m hungry again) today at Carrols’ Creek Cafe in Annapolis I was distracted by the interesting construction close by.  I can’t wait to see the finished result, and go back for more delicious food of course.
